What Is The Difference Between Double Acting And Single Acting Pneumatic Actuator?

Jun 29, 2019

Double acting pneumatic actuator is open when air supply pressure from the air intake "2" into the cylinder between the pistons in the chamber, moving the output shaft anticlockwise turn. It close when air supply pressure from the air intake "4" into the cylinder at both ends of the chamber, driving the output shaft clockwise turn. Unless specifically requested, we provide double acting pneumatic actuator with pistons at close position.

Single acting pneumatic actuator is open when air supply pressure from the air intake "2" into the cylinder between the pistons in the chamber, moving the output shaft anticlockwise turn. When lost of air supply, the springs (normally 10pcs) pushes the pistons to the middle of the chamber, moving the output shaft clockwise turn. Unless specifically requested, we provide single acting pneumatic actuator at normally closed position.

When ordering single acting pneumatic actuators, customers must indicate NO or NC.
